Programme Overview

Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management is a 3-year undergraduate program that provides knowledge on how the hotels are run, the management, hotel administration, and skills to attend to the customer.

BSc Hotel Management is spread over 6 semesters, with the final 2 semesters being based on the candidate’s chosen stream of study.

Students who have passed out class 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% with English as the compulsory subject from a recognized board are eligible to opt for this course.

The program involves in-depth practical work for students to achieve expertise in the operational areas of Food Production, Bakery, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping. It also provides managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management.

The course pays attention to diplomatic and strategic management in areas like event management, financial management, human resource management, revenue management and entrepreneurship. Some of the foremost objectives of the course are also to develop research skills, complete a 6 months Industrial Training in the industry which will assist to deepen the knowledge in the field of Hospitality Industry.

Programme Objectives

The B.Sc. – Hospitality and Hotel Administration is a program offered by IHM Hisar that was drafted with the following objectives:

• The course familiarizes the students with the Hospitality/Tourism Business & Management.
• The course is blend of theory and practical to develop a professional attitude & skills for trade in students.
• Being professional in nature the course aims to inculcate professional values & ethics with focus on hospitality/tourism management & operations.
• Various advancements in the catering technology are taught to the students as well.

Programme Outcomes
